In less than a month, the Tahaluf Democrati in North America lost two of its members, Dr. Magdi Elgadi of LA, CA and Ustaza/Amal Kunna of Toronto, Canada. 
The Northeast Chapter of the Democratic Alliance extends its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and neighbors of the two late comrades in Sudan and exile.
Here are few words from the friends of Magdi and Amal:
"I visited him the day he was transferred to another hospital and found that his room was full of his co-workers from various backgrounds: Black, Latino, White, and Asian. He was extremely beloved by all people. Luis, his colleague, had told Magdi “Moe (Magdi’s nickname) we need you back do not be late,” but unfortunately Moe left us too early" {Alrasheed Khalafalla}
"تميزت آمال كنه بقدرتها الرائعه على التجسير بين مختلفالاحزاب و الفئات و العقائد....لذا نجد انه وفاتها قد اوضحتمدى علاقتها وقيمة تلاحمها الجماهيري الذي معه تحطمت الحدود الحزبيه....ونتمنى ان يكون منهجها وسلوكها مدرسة للراغبين في العمل السياسي الاصيلفآمال كانت صديقة الجميع....من ابسط فراشة بمستشفى سوداني.....لاكبر بروفيسره جامعيه...مرورا ببائعات الكسرى....ولاقطات القطن...." {Tragie Mostafa}
"آمال كنة إحدى نساء بلادى الباسقات عرفتها سوح النضال ولم تقهرها سنوات الظلام المايوى وبطش الإتقاذ... كانت من اوائل من دفعوا ثمن نضالها فى بدايات عهد الإنقاذ البغيض... ظلت شامخة الى ان قهرها المرض اللعين... ارجو من رفيقاتها والرفاق والأصدقاء جمع مساهماتها وإخراجها فى كتاب حتى تكون بيننا بفكرها... عزاؤنا لأسرتها الصغيرة ولرفاقها الكثر ولكل جندريات بلادى..." {Mannan}
